Kress EyePilot® RTKⁿ ranked first overall in an independent 2026 comparative test conducted by SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification authority. Tested alongside three other wire-free robotic lawn mowers available through independent dealers, EyePilot® achieved the highest final weighted score: 4.5 out of 5.
The test evaluated mower performance across 12 real-world challenges, from initial setup and mapping to obstacle avoidance, recovery from difficult situations, navigation between lawn areas, path accuracy, operation after GNSS signal loss and the app and user interface.
All four mowers earned full marks for path accuracy on an open lawn. The differences became clear as the scenarios grew more demanding. EyePilot® received full marks in five test areas: professional mapping, static obstacle detection and avoidance, dynamic obstacle detection and avoidance, inter-zone navigation and path accuracy.
“Performance on an open lawn is just the baseline. The SGS test gives dealers and homeowners a clear, real-world comparison of how different robotic lawn mowers perform in the varied conditions found in everyday lawns,” said Jim Kirkwood, director of product management at Kress.
In the final weighted results, EyePilot® scored 4.5 out of 5, ahead of the three anonymized comparison models, which scored 3.8, 3.7 and 2.5.

SGS conducted the independent comparative test in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain, between February 10 and March 17, 2026. Each mower was assessed under controlled and identical conditions in 12 test areas: initial setup, auto-mapping, manual mapping, professional mapping, static obstacle detection and avoidance, dynamic obstacle detection and avoidance, trap recovery, dead end, inter-zone navigation, path accuracy, signal-loss recovery and the app and user interface. The findings are documented in SGS report no. SHES260200276672. SGS is the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification authority, with more than 100,000 professions, 2,500 laboratories and business facilities across 115 countries and more than 145 years of expertise.
